Upon graduation, she moved to the sunny Okanagan to commence her career as a Registered Massage Therapist. Kristin is passionate about her career choice and committed to furthering her knowledge as a practitioner.
Kristin utilizes a variety of both passive and active treatment modalities, which include: myofascial release, joint mobilizations, muscle energy techniques, trigger point therapy, PNF stretching and Swedish massage. These modalities commonly apply to sports/work related injuries, neurological disorders, whiplash injuries, headaches and chronic pain. Regardless of an individual’s injury, disorder, or pain sufferance, Kristin encourages and assists patients to be proactive in their treatment and recovery by prescribing appropriate homecare and remedial exercise. This can decrease rehabilitation time and aid in preventing further injury.
Kristins career in massage therapy was seeded by an injury suffered in her Canadian Armed Forces career. Through the course of her rehabilitation she gained both knowledge of and interest for musculoskeletal anatomy, chronic pain treatments, and the rehabilitation process. She knows that soft tissue injuries have the potential to be both invasive and lifestyle altering. Rehabilitation should not be viewed as merely an inconvenience to be endured at the time of injury, but rather as an ongoing, proactive approach facilitating long-term physical health and injury prevention.

Just don’t give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don’t think you can go wrong.
